Utah Valley University, Utah's fastest-growing institution of higher learning, is a four-year college located in Orem, 45 miles south of Salt Lake City. The campus is located adjacent to Interstate 15 with beautiful Mount Timpanogos as a backdrop.

Originally formed to provide training to support the industrial needs of World War II, the college has evolved from a trade school to a state college offering everything from short-term vocational programs to four year degrees in a wide variety of majors. The college now enrolls nearly 22,000 students, ninety percent of those being residents of Utah.

UVU is home to six academic schools that offer 41 Bachelor's degree programs, as well as numerous associates and certification programs. These schools include:

  • Business
  • Computing, Engineering & Technology
  • Education
  • General Academics
  • Humanities, Arts, & Social Sciences
  • Science and Health

Although UVU was founded as a technical school, it is now also known for its excellent education and nursing programs.

Utah Valley State College

UVU's rapid growth has allowed it to maintain one of Utah's most modern and beautiful campuses.

The 220 acre campus boasts an award winning design concept with all ten major buildings connected by thirty-foot wide concourses. Each building has been built using the same style and the master plan calls for many more buildings maintaining the concept.

UVU is home to the David O. McKay Events Center, a multi-purpose arena built in partnership with the county. The McKay Center hosts the college's athletic programs as well as many major concerts, trade shows, high school sports tournaments, family shows, and banquets.

In 2003, UVU became an NCAA Division I school. The Wolverines participate in seven men's and seven women's sports, including basketball, baseball, softball, and track and field. More recently, the university constructed a 2,500-seat baseball stadium along Interstate 15 which serves as a home field not only for UVSC Wolverine baseball, but also the Orem Owlz minor league team.
