Grand Canyon National Park one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World, is located just south of the Utah town of Kanab. The park's beautiful North Rim is just 90 scenic minutes away. In addition to serving as the prime gateway city to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Kanab is also just minutes from Lake Powell, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

Moqui Cave
Privately owned museum of Indian artifacts, dinosaur tracks, and fossils as well as a florescent mineral display. Open Monday - Saturday. Hours: Memorial Day - Labor Day, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; spring and fall, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; winter, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Located 5 ½ miles north of Kanab on U.S. 89. 435-644-2987

Heritage House
The Heritage House has been restored to its original glory. It houses a collection of artifacts from Kanab's history. Open for tours 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Saturday during the summer. 435-644-3506


Outdoor Rec. & Resorts

Skiing and Snowboarding - Brian Head Resort
Located less than two hours north of Kanab via all-weather state highways 89 and 143, the resort has over 400 inches of annual snowfall, 500 skiable acres, 53 runs, a 1,707 ft. vertical drop, plenty of backcountry and a lift assisted tubing park. Generally open from mid-November - mid-April for skiing; Mountain Bike Park is open from July 1 - October 1. Western Legends Roundup (August)

Southern Utah Bluegrass Festival (July)

Greyhound Gathering (April/May)
Over 300 hounds and humans will vacation in Kanab. Hounds will be strolling the streets, prancing in a parade, and singing to the stars. Speakers, roo sessions, shopping, auctions, tour of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. 435-644-2903

Symphony Of The Canyons performs 10 concerts annually. Their concert at the North Rim in August is particularly spectacular. 435-644-3566
