Arches National Park: Balanced Rock

Many of the outstanding natural features in Arches National Park can be seen from paved roads and turnouts. The main road runs from the park entrance up to Devils Garden, passing Park Avenue, Petrified Sand Dunes, Pinnacles, Balanced Rock, Skyline Arch and several other impressive structures.

A paved spur road runs out to the Windows Section, allowing grand views of Double Arch plus North and South Windows.

Another paved spur road runs to the Delicate Arch Trailhead at Wolfe Ranch, and also out to Delicate Arch Viewpoint.

Dirt roads provide access to other areas in the park, most notably the Klondike Bluffs area.

Parking is limited at popular trailheads and viewpoints. Please park in established lots only. If you park in other areas you may damage fragile vegetation and endanger other visitors. Generally, parking spaces are easier to find before 9 am and after 7 pm.
